• Objective:
• TGTest provides a framework for testing GUI (Graphical User Interface) applications. TGTest provides the unique feature of using TTCN3 ATS (Abstract Test Suites) for GUI testing.
• Design:
• TTCN3 has been accepted worldwide as the testing methodology for interoperability testing, robustness testing, regression testing, system testing, integration testing module testing, CORBA-based platform testing and API testing. TGTest taps the uniform applicability of TTCN3 and extends it for GUI Testing.
• TTCN is meant for black box testing where every stimulus creates a reaction and the decision for pass or fail is based on the comparison of the reaction with the expected values. GUI testing is usually done based on the principle of Capture and Replay and most of the commercially available GUI test tools work that way.
• TGTest uses the established method of %93Capture & Replay%94 for testing any GUI application. Instead of reinventing the wheel, TGTest has been designed for an open interface so that TGTest can easily be integrated with any third party GUI tester and provides a framework for controlling the GUI tester with TTCN3 ATS.
• Features:
• 1) Standard Test Environment : All third party GUI test tools available in market use proprietary TSL (Test Specification Language) for writing test scripts for GUI testing. TGTest provides the convenience of using standard TTCN3 ATS for GUI testing.
• 2) Compliant to ISO/IEC 9646-3 and CCITT Rec X.292: TGTest is compliant to TTCN3 test methodology as defined by ISO/IEC 9646-3 and CCITT Rec X.292
• 3) Design on open architecture: TGTest is designed on an open architecture so that it can be interfaced to any third party GUI test tool e.g. WinRunner, CAPBAK, QA Run etc with minimum customization.
