IP-XACT, the standard structure for packaging, integrating, and reusing IP within tool flows is coming back on track with a kick-off meeting on Friday 27th August. IP-XACT, initially known as SPIRIT, was driven by the Spirit Consortium to help standardize IP packaging, integration and reuse. In June 2009, the IP-XACT 1.5 definition was handed over to the IEEE P1685 Working Group and was approved pproved as IEEE 1685-2009 on December 9, 2009 and published on February 18, 2009. The Spirit consortium then merged with Accellera and and now all IP-XACT activities are to be handled under Accellera.
