Semico Research was prescient in the way it recently examined FPGA, ASIC, and System on a Chip (SoC) trends in tandem. At last week’s Electronica conference, as well as in other venues in the last week or two, we’ve seen devices arise that are quasi-programmable, but not the type of FPGAs we’re usually accustomed to seeing.
