Uplinq an Ecosystem of Connectivity: USB, MIPI, PCI ExpressThe Eyes Have it : A Mixed-signal IP Blog - Navraj Nandra, SynopsysJun. 26, 2012 |
Tomorrow I’ll be heading down to San Diego to attend and present at Qualcomm’s Uplinq event. I’ll be talking about different types of wired connectivity for the latest chips that are used in tablets and smartphones. I’ll be introducing MIPI MPHY and covering the trends that I see for USB, PCI Express and SATA. The target is to get higher speeds between two chips that are talking to each other or faster downloads or rapid battery charging – all without increasing power. Engineers refer to this as mW/Gb/s – how much or rather how little, energy needs to expended for these tasks.
