What to Look for When Selecting Third-Party IP, Part 9All Programmable Planet - Jacek Hanke, CEO, Digital Core DesignJul. 10, 2013 |
There's an old Polish saying: Rzeczy niemożliwe robimy od ręki, na cuda trzeba chwilę poczekać. Just in case your Polish is a little rusty, this translates into English as something like "All impossible tasks I can do immediately, but you'll have to wait if you need wonders." Since my company, Digital Core Design (DCD), is based in Poland (we were founded in 1999), we feel like we have to obey this saying.
All joking aside, it's rare that an IP core from a third party will be a perfect fit off the shelf for your application. One of the questions you should be asking your IP vendor is "How long will it take you to tailor your IP to my needs?"
