Nu Horizons Electronics Corp. Announces Availability of Embedded Development Kit -EDK- 7.1i Featuring New Xilinx MicroBlaze-TM- 4.0 Soft Processor
The Xilinx MicroBlaze 4.0 32-bit RISC "soft" processor core now operates at frequencies up to 200 MHz in Virtex-4 FPGAs, delivering a 25 percent increase in core performance compared to prior versions. This solution also includes a scaleable processor feature set providing designers with pre-built configuration options to match target application requirements. Designers can now choose greater mathematical accuracy and flexibility for their designs to fully customize performance without significant cost penalty, resulting in extended product life cycles and faster time to market.
"We know that delivering superior technical and design support for our Xilinx customers is critical," explains Athar Zafar, vice president of global engineering for Nu Horizons. "Nu Horizons is committed to providing comprehensive design options to meet a wide variety of engineering needs. Creating bundled software/hardware solutions are one way to make it easier for engineers to acquire the tools they need - quickly."
