MIPS Technologies Names Wind River as its Premier Device Software Optimization Solution Provider

(NASDAQ:MIPS), a leading provider of industry-standard processor architectures and cores for digital consumer and business applications, today announced that MIPS Technologies has named Wind River as its premier DSO solution provider. As part of this strategic alliance, joint customers will have access to best-in-class MIPS Technologies’ processor cores and Wind River’s comprehensive range of DSO products. The companies will align and optimize the integration of these technologies and products for the consumer entertainment, imaging, network equipment, and automotive telematics markets.
Wind River offers comprehensive development tools that support the MIPS32® and MIPS64® architectures and cores through Wind River Workbench, Wind River’s Eclipse-based integrated development environment (IDE). Through this alliance, joint customers can benefit from optimized and tightly integrated, end-to-end solutions on VxWorks- and Linux-based runtime platforms. In addition to supporting existing MIPS® cores, including the 24K® family of cores, Wind River will collaborate with MIPS Technologies on supporting new technologies such as multithreading and DSP architectures.
