Aware's StratiPHY2+ Drives Analog Devices' New Fusiv-AT ADSL2/2+ CPE Chipset
BEDFORD, Mass. – May 27, 2005 – Aware, Inc. (NASDAQ: AWRE), a worldwide leader and innovator of broadband intellectual property, announced that its StratiPHY2+™ high-performance chipset technology platform is the physical layer technology used in Analog Devices’ new integrated ADSL2/2+ Network Processors. Fusiv-AT™ with StratiPHY2+ is competitively positioned to enable next-generation CPE devices such as home gateways and routers, allowing carriers to offer the speeds needed to deliver mass-market rollout of broadband services, including triple-play and video-over-DSL.
Aware’s StratiPHY2+ is the DSL engine that drives Fusiv-AT. StratiPHY2+ is compliant with the ITU standards ADSL2 (G.992.3) and ADSL2+ (G.992.5) as well as legacy ADSL (G.992.1), and has achieved interoperability with industry leading DSLAMs including the ADSL2+ Alcatel 7300 ASAM, achieving data rates in excess of 24 Mbps. Fusiv-AT offers a solution that increases bandwidth, enabling service providers to competitively market and deploy advanced revenue-generating services such as IP television (IPTV).
“By integrating ADI and Aware’s ADSL2/2+ technologies with wire-speed network processing, Fusiv-AT chipsets bring advanced triple-play technology to CPE manufacturers at a price level that is reasonable, and allows equipment manufacturers to offer service providers the tools they need to bring video to the customer,” said Gerald McGuire, general manager, Media Platforms and Services Group, Analog Devices, Inc. “Superior access gateway technology helps to maintain quality of service for multiple media-rich applications such as video on demand, video conferencing, voice over IP, games, and Web browsing.”
The Fusiv-AT family builds on the leading market position ADI established with its ADSL2/2+ EaglePlus™ chipset, which is also driven by StratiPHY2+, to support download speeds up to 24 Mbps. The new customer premises equipment (CPE) chipsets integrate leading-edge ADSL2/2+ access technology with ADI’s Fusiv network processor core, which features independently proven wire-speed packet processing, removing performance and cost barriers to deploying value-added services.
