ATEME and ObjectVideo partner to provide intelligent video software on Visio+ production-ready design
Paris -- May 16, 2005 -- Following the announcement of ViSio, a reference design allowing the addition of built-in video security software, ATEME, a leading supplier of hardware and software solutions for video and signal processing, and ObjectVideo™, the leader in intelligent video software, today announced a new solution integrating ObjectVideo OnBoard™ with ViSio+.
A presentation of ViSio+ features and capabilities will be shown during IFSEC show - Birmingham, UK May 16th to 19th – for more information, visit ATEME on Texas Instruments’ stand R53 and on ObjectVideo’s stand R54.
ViSio+ combines the complete hardware and software reference design of ViSio with ObjectVideo’s OnBoard™ leading intelligent video application software. This solution is designed with two levels of access: the development platform including all necessary sources to develop a customized application (with the ability to grant access to the connectors needed for development); and the production-ready design, a compact platform including a ready-to-use hardware.
ViSio+ is an easy-to-use product for capturing, encoding, storing and streaming high quality audio/video streams while applying multiple video security related tools and functionalities of ObjectVideo OnBoard™. ViSio+ is based on ViSio’s mixed architecture that combines the best of two worlds: TI’s TMS320DM642 digital media processor with DSP/BIOS™ and Motorola’s MCP5200 PowerPC under Linux.
The modularity of the hardware enables ViSio to run the video processing engine with MPEG-4 SP and ASP while running the video content analysis, object recognition and tracking on TI’s high performance digital media processor, the Linux-based DVR application being handled by the PowerPC. Moreover, a PC-based server manages the GUI, rules creation and management, real-time alerts and JPEG snapshot visualization.
This high-end solution provides a wide range of features while keeping overall cost down, thus making it possible for OEMs to develop complete customized embedded security systems with high performance, limited bandwidth, and reduced time-to-market.
“Having ObjectVideo’s intelligent software integrated with ATEME’s production-ready design for the DSP enables quick and easy access to this technology for OEM customers.”, said Brian Eckert, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, ObjectVideo.
The launch of ViSio+ is the accomplishment of the ATEME and ObjectVideo partnership to provide a production-ready design especially intended for the Video Security market.
“Combining ATEME’s know-how in compression and streaming with the intelligent video analysis capability of ObjectVideo OnBoard™ enables ATEME to offer an overall richer solution”, stated Marc Guillaumet, Marketing Director, ATEME. “It opens the door for dramatic cost reductions in next generation high-end intelligent video servers.”
ViSio+ will be available immediately after IFSEC and can be purchased through ATEME’s distribution channel. It will strengthen ATEME’s Video Security portfolio already comprised of the VSIP development platform and ViSio’s reference design.
ATEME can also provide OEMs with engineering services for specific applications to help them speed time to production.
