TransDimension Recognized as one of Orange County's Fastest Growing Technology Companies for Third Consecutive Year
Semiconductor Company Generates Strong Revenue Growth And Is Named To Deloitte’s Prestigious Fast 50 Program
IRVINE, Calif., August 23, 2005 – TransDimension, a leading provider of USB connectivity solutions for embedded applications, has been named to Deloitte's prestigious Technology Fast 50 Program for Orange County for the third consecutive year. The ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in the area is made public annually by Deloitte & Touche LLP, one of the nation’s leading professional services firms. Deloitte will formally announce the Orange County Technology Fast 50 rankings on October 11 at the Hyatt Regency Irvine.
Technology Fast 50 rankings are based on the percentage revenue growth over five years from 2000–2004, and TransDimension and has been named to Deloitte’s annual list for three consecutive years. Last year the company was noted as the fastest growing semiconductor company in Orange County, one of the largest hi-tech markets in the United States, and earned an overall ranking of tenth among the fastest growing technology companies in the area.
TransDimension’s President and CEO Rick Goerner credits the company’s team and its loyal, innovative group of customers with its dramatic revenue growth. “Given the challenges in the semiconductor industry over the past several years, the kind of growth we’ve seen throughout this time period is outstanding,” said Goerner. “The dedication and hard work of the people at TransDimension is what made that kind of success happen. Recognition from Deloitte for three consecutive years through the Fast 50 program validates our achievements as we continue to execute our technology roadmap, expand our group of innovative customers and maintain market leadership.”
"Sustaining high revenue growth over five years is an exceptional accomplishment,” said Fred Poska, partner, Technology, Media, & Telecommunications, Deloitte & Touche LLP. “We commend TransDimension for making a commitment to technology and delivering on the promise of market longevity. We are proud to honor them as a Deloitte Technology Fast 50 winner."
This accomplishment follows a strategic partnership announcement with Chipidea, the leading analog and mixed-signal semiconductor solutions provider, just last month. TransDimension and Chipidea have aligned to provide the industry’s only complete high-speed USB intellectual property (IP) solution. Combining the strengths and expertise of both companies, the result of the partnership is a complete, single-source SoC solution that encompasses three critical components of a successful USB implementation – the PHY, USB controller IP and software.
TransDimension’s solutions provide direct connectivity for a wide range of PC peripheral, consumer and mobile devices that until now have required an indirect means, such as a PC host, to exchange data. These embedded applications include cellular phones, mobile media players, set top boxes and MP3 players, to name a few.
To qualify for the Technology Fast 50, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 2000 and $1,000,000 in 2004, must be public or private companies headquartered in North America, and be a "technology company," defined as a company that owns proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues; or devotes a significant portion of revenues to the research and development of technology. Using other companies' technology in a unique way does not qualify.
