Faraday Contracted Three ASIC Business Agents in Korea to Expand its Global Presence
“The three companies contracted as Faraday's sales agents in Korea are all established experts in deep sub-micron ASIC technology. They have built up excellent track records in serving the IC providers for LCD panel, networking, telecommunication, and mobile phone applications, and this is the main reason for Faraday to choose them as its recommended sales partners,” said H.P. Lin, President of Faraday Technology Corporation, “We believe that their design service will set a new benchmark for designers' productivity and will enable our customers to fulfill the market requirements of faster time-to-market and lower power consumption.”
“The three companies are able to exploit the intelligence generated from the extensive Faraday IP portfolio, such as embedded processor cores, high-speed I/Os, as well as the innovative platforms designed for variety of applications.” said Frankwell Lin, Vice President of Sales in Faraday, “They are able to clearly deliver Faraday's competence to customers and bring back customers' requirements which are necessary and critical for a first-cut silicon IC. For example, it took Faraday two months only from data transferred-in to engineering-sample-out through collaboration with the agents. As a result, customer already had its 3D graphic chips sent for volume production!”
According to the Gartner Dataquest's investigation, Korean semiconductor will enjoy substantial growth in the coming three years. The market research firm also indicated that LCD Panel IC market in Korea ranked as top 1 and represented 40% of the worldwide market share. The mobile phone ICs, on the other hand, accounted for 41.4% of the total IC market revenue in Korea in 2004, which was about 20% of the world supply of mobile phone ICs.
“In the past few years we have seen a clear upward trend of Korea business,” said Frankwell Lin, Vice President of Sales, “With the infusion of new blood, we feel even more optimistic with our business in Korea .”
