Bluespec, Inc. Appoints Nokia Executive, Bob Iannucci, to its Board of Directors
Senior Vice President and Head of Nokia Research Center Brings More Than 25 Years of Industry Experience to Bluespec Board
WALTHAM, Mass.--Sept. 19, 2005--Bluespec, Inc. (www.bluespec.com), developer of the only ESL synthesis toolset for control logic and complex datapaths, announced today that Bob Iannucci, senior vice president and head of the Nokia Research Center, has joined Bluespec's Board of Directors. Dr. Iannucci will play a pivotal role, providing leadership and counsel, as Bluespec continues to introduce design and verification advancements to chip design.
Dr. Iannucci joins Bluespec's Board of Directors with experience in product development, engineering and research. He joined Nokia in 2004 after gaining recognition for his research and development activities in the fields of computing architectures, human-computer interaction, Internet, handheld computing, wireless technology strategy and networking systems. He was named senior vice president and head of Nokia's Research Center, a unit that employs 1,200 researchers and operates in six countries, on January 1st, 2005. Iannucci is responsible for all strategic and long-term research for Nokia."A highly regarded figure in the technology world, Bob brings a wealth of experience to Bluespec," said Shiv Tasker, Bluespec, CEO. Before joining Nokia, Dr. Iannucci held the position of senior vice president of engineering at CoSine Communications, where he was responsible for the planning, design, development and testing of all of the company's products. Prior to that, Dr. Iannucci was vice president of research at Compaq Computer Corporation, was vice president of engineering and co-founder of Exa Corporation, and held various research and development roles at IBM Corporation.
Dr. Iannucci is a senior member of the IEEE and a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). He is the author / coauthor of two books, has written several academic papers, and holds five patents.
