picoTurbo Announces Expansion into Broad European Markets
IP2000, EDINBURGH – October 23, 2000 – picoTurboÒ , Inc., a premier developer of 16/32-bit RISC embedded microprocessor cores for wireless Internet devices, announced today that they have a signed agreement with Premier Microelectronics Europe, Ltd., to sell and distribute picoTurbo core IP products in UK. At the same time, they have contracted with Premier Technical Sales Israel, to sell and distribute products in the Israeli market. The addition of the two new distributors, resulting from customer demand, will extend the picoTurbo reach from the U.S. and Asia Pacific to Europe and the Mid East.
The picoTurbo product family of 16/32-bit microprocessor cores recently (Oct. 10) added the PT-120Ô core for advanced wireless, consumer and networking devices. It is the fastest and most powerful core in the family, which includes the pT-100Ô and pT-110Ô cores. With the ability to execute ARMÒ version 4T instructions, the highly flexible processor core family offers scalable solutions to low-power embedded applications that demand high performance and low cost.
Brian MacDonnell, Vice President of Sales, picoTurbo, stated, "picoTurbo has been exceedingly successful in wireless and portable markets in a very short time. We started in Silicon Valley, expanded to Asia Pacific and are now opening shop in Europe--in under three years. Due to customer demand in Taiwan, picoTurbo established a design center and product distribution there. Our customers worldwide now have access to small, inexpensive high-performance processor cores to drive their market growth in wireless portable consumer devices."
