ATEME opens a Japanese office
The opening of an office in Japan is the first step towards extending reach into this dynamic economy. ATEME Japan office will increase efficiency by providing local customer support and enabling the expansion of sales activities. Four new partners are expected to strengthen the distribution network before the end of the year.
A reinforced local distribution network
Since 2002 a single distributor was representing ATEME, and was exclusively focused on DSP-based solutions: video compression codecs for Texas Instruments’ DSP (H.264, MPEG-4, WM9, MPEG-2), DM64x-based development boards and platforms, reference designs for video security or streaming media.
Broadcast quality advanced video codecs like H.264 and MPEG-4 as well as reference designs targeted at the video security market are expected to take an increasingly large part in the growth of the Japanese High Tech industry. ATEME’s sales in Japan could represent up to 10% of its revenue within two years.
Yasushi Kato, Sales director for Japan
Yasushi Kato is a Computer Science graduate of Tokyo Noko University. He has more than 15 years in Sales, Marketing and Channel Management for international IT firms operating in Japan, including Aladdin (Nasdaq ALDN) and most recently Ubicom.
