LogicVision and Magma Deliver Full Flow Integration between ETCreate and Blast Create and Blast Fusion
Embedded test in the RTL-to-GDSII flow enhances timing closure predictability and increases productivity for 90- and 65-nm designs.
San Jose and Santa Clara Calif. - November 1, 2005 - LogicVision, Inc., (NASDAQ:LGVN), a leading provider of yield learning technology that enables its customers to quickly and efficiently improve product yields, and Magma Design Automation, Inc., (NASDAQ:LAVA), a provider of semiconductor design software, today announced that the two companies have completed flow integration between LogicVision's ETCreateTM and Magma's Blast Create™ and Blast Fusion® products. With LogicVision's industry leading embedded test technology integrated into the RTL-to-GDSII flow, mutual customers can make optimal tradeoffs between design for test (DFT), timing, area, power and yield of 90- and 65-nanometer (nm) designs to ensure higher quality silicon.
This integration is the culmination of a year long effort and results in a solution that combines best-in-class test and design solutions. Key to this integration is the ability to now add LogicVision's new Burst-ModeTM Embedded Logic Test capabilities into a design without affecting the functional performance and delivery schedules achievable using Magma's RTL-to-GDSII flow. LogicVision's Embedded Logic Test solution provides the industry's most advanced defect and performance screening for logic and ensures quick silicon bring-up of even the most complex designs. Magma's Blast Create and Blast Fusion provide a unified environment for logic synthesis, physical synthesis, DFT analysis and insertion, power optimization, static timing analysis and placement and routing.
"Several mutual customers have already deployed this joint solution and achieved significant runtime and productivity improvements," said Kam Kittrell, general manager of Maggm's Logic Design Business Unit. "This integration reflects Magma's commitment to providing its customers with best-in-class solutions. We recognize the growing importance of embedded test and are excited to provide this interoperability with LogicVision's industry leading solutions."
"Creating this seamless integration with Magma's RTL-to-GDSII flow was the natural next step to our recent migration of all of our embedded test automation to the RTL level." said Jim Healy, president and CEO of LogicVision. "All of the efficiencies of operating at the RTL level can now be fully achieved."
