Atmel supplies rad-hard Leon2 Sparc processor
Peter Clarke, LONDON — Atmel Corp. can supply a Leon2 radiation-hardened 32-bit SPARC microprocessor in the form of its AT697 integrated circuit, the company said Monday (Nov. 7). The Leon2 microprocessor was designed by Jiri Gaisler to comply with version 8 of the SPARC definition while he was working at the European Space Agency. Gaisler is the founder of Gaisler Research AB (Goteborg, Sweden).
