December 1, 2005 -- Imagination Technologies Group plc ("Imagination Technologies"), the leading provider of multimedia and communication intellectual property ("IP"), reports that Texas Instruments Incorporated (“TI”) is utilizing Imagination’s PowerVR MBX Lite core in its new OMAPV2230 UMTS Solution. Part of TI's OMAP-VoxTM architecture, the new OMAPV2230 solution is an integrated UMTS dual-mode digital baseband processor and advanced applications processor, developed to serve the worldwide 3G handset market.
Manufacturers are currently designing handsets based on the OMAPV2230 solution, which is sampling now, and products are expected on the market in 2006.
Under the terms of its licensing arrangements Imagination Technologies receives license fees and royalty revenues on System on Chips (“SoC”) incorporating Imagination Technologies’ IP shipped by partners.
