ATEME Supports the DaVinci(TM) Technology
PARIS -- Jan. 5, 2005 -- ATEME announces its migration to TI's DaVinci(TM) technology, further enriching digital video in the next generation of devices.
DaVinci technology from Texas Instruments is a digital signal processor (DSP)-based system solution tailored for digital video applications. It provides designers with optimized software, development tools, integrated silicon and support to simplify design and stimulate innovation in less time.
ATEME has continually provided leading-edge products based on the latest technologies from TI and DaVinci technology is the next logical path for ATEME's current offer. Indeed, ATEME has launched several development platforms based on TI's digital media processors and has the proven video system expertise in place to support DaVinci technology.
ATEME's offerings for TI's DaVinci technology will allow developers to quickly overcome programming challenges and focus on differentiating end product features. Supporting multiple video codecs, DaVinci technology is the first complete integrated portfolio of chips, software and tools for video- processing platforms. It is an easy-to-use, preconfigured, programmable and flexible system that delivers amazing performance and quality at efficient chip costs.
Optimized for streaming video, image and audio performance, DaVinci technology allows the design of more integrated solutions for applications such as Video Surveillance and IP Set-Top Box.
This one-stop-shop solution increases electronic devices reliability, decreases power consumption, accelerates development and simplifies the usual interface complications seen in system-on-chip offerings. The final customized and flexible products are easier to develop in less time and are less expensive.
ATEME's renowned codecs and support services offer enables customers to reach the market quickly and reduce overall costs while simplifying component supply. Moreover, the DaVinci development environment (software and tools) will remain available for future generations of TI chips, representing a technological perpetuation choice for next consumers' designs.
"We are proud of being selected as a unique European Third Party for the video field. For many years, ATEME has been deeply involved in adopting TI's great technological progress while proposing Streaming Media or Video Security solutions based on TI's chips," said Marc Guillaumet, Marketing Director, ATEME. "The arrival of the DaVinci technology into the digital video world will more than ever help customers in developing highly integrated, leading- edge solutions."
"ATEME has consistently proven that it has all the necessary competencies on video and embedded platforms to support TI's DaVinci technology," stated Jean-Marc Charpentier, DSP business development manager EMEA, Texas Instruments. "By working with ATEME, we are able to offer our customers highly optimized development tools and an even greater level of support that will enable developers to speed their design process for digital media applications."
