PLDA announces contract with VMETRO - PCI Express & PCI-X IPs integrated with the SFM Quad Serial FPDP Module
San Jose, California January 30, 2006 — PLDApplications (PLDA) today announced a contract with VMETRO for two of its digital IPs, the x8 PCIe XpressSilicon IP (which permits data transfers of up to 2.5 Gbps) and the 64-bit PCI-X 133 MHz IP. Both IPs are integrated into VMETRO's SFM Quad Serial FPDP (Front Panel Data Port) module, a product designed for point-to-point or broadcast communications between remote sensor arrays and processing systems.
"PLDA's digital IP permits simultaneous high-speed data transfer and helps us obtain optimal performance," explains Jeremy Banks, Product Manager at VMETRO. "Our chosen design makes the SFM the market's highest performing Serial FPDP module."
Since the earliest introduction of the PCI Express protocol, PLDA has consistently listed products on the PCI-SIG integrator list. Today, PLDA has sold over 100 PCI Express licenses and offers three families of PCI Express IP that support x1, x4, and x8 Lanes for Root Port, Endpoint, Bridge, and Switch configurations. The best-selling IP for PCI-X / PCI (PLDA was ranked #1 PCI vendor by Gartner Dataquest, 2005) includes a client list of over 1,000 satisfied customers worldwide.
