Fusion CX Testing 2.4GHz Transceivers for High-growth Computer and Gaming Peripherals
WESTWOOD, Mass., January 31, 2006 - LTX Corporation (Nasdaq: LTXX), a leading provider of semiconductor test solutions, today announced that Nordic Semiconductor ASA has purchased multiple Fusion CX systems for testing its nRF family of wireless devices for computer and gaming peripherals. These systems, shipped last fiscal year, were deployed at the facilities of various subcontract test providers to Nordic. In addition, Nordic has utilized LTX to develop several RF test applications, drawing on LTX's pioneering RF application expertise.
"The Fusion X-Series' low configuration overhead enables reliable and cost effective test solutions - and simplicity and reduced overhead is what our nRF products are all about," noted Ole-Fredrik Morken, supply chain group manager at Nordic Semiconductor. "This move is instrumental not only in enhancing our leading position in current key markets such as wireless mouse products, but it also opens up new opportunities. One of these is in the field of intelligent sports equipment - in products such as wireless heart rate or distance monitors, a new market for RF and one for which Nordic has great enthusiasm. Our experience in working with LTX makes us confident that they understand the semiconductor test challenges we face and have the people, technologies and flexibility to support our continued growth."
"Nordic has experienced significant growth over the past year, and LTX is excited to be supporting the continued expansion of their business in new and existing markets," commented David Tacelli, chief executive officer and president of LTX. "The Fusion X-Series provides Nordic with the added capacity, increased flexibility and optimized cost structure they require for their advanced products. And our people, working closely with Nordic's own in-house RF experts, will ensure that test continues to be a strategic advantage."
