Elliptic Semiconductor Ports Security IP Cores to Lattice FPGAs
Update: Synopsys Expands Security Solutions with Acquisition of Elliptic Technologies (June 29, 2015)
Encryption and Decryption Cores Protect Digital InformationHILLSBORO, OR - FEBRUARY 24, 2006 - Lattice Semiconductor Corporation (NASDAQ: LSCC) today announced that semiconductor intellectual property (IP) provider Elliptic Semiconductor has ported encryption and decryption IP cores to LatticeECP™, LatticeEC™ and LatticeXP™ FPGAs. A member of the Lattice ispLeverCORE™ Connection program, Elliptic IP cores protect digital information. Through their partnership, Lattice and Elliptic will provide a range of complete system solutions for mutual customers who are integrating system-level IP with Lattice’s most advanced silicon architectures.
"We are very pleased to join the ispLeverCORE Connection program, and to offer security solutions for Lattice’s exciting new generation of FPGAs and other programmable logic devices," said Richard White, President and CEO of Elliptic Semiconductor. "Given the steadily rising cost of ASIC development, our customers are now using FPGAs in high volume applications. Consequently, we will port additional complex security cores, such as our Internet Protocol Security (IPSec) engine and our Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) public key accelerator cores, to Lattice FPGAs over the coming year," White concluded.
“We continue to expand the IP portfolio for our FPGA families. In partnership with Elliptic, we are now able to address the increasing customer need to implement security algorithms in FPGA designs,” said Stan Kopec, Lattice corporate vice president of marketing. “Elliptic is a best-in-class provider of security IP, and we’re pleased to join with them to provide our customers the highest quality encryption solutions,” Kopec concluded.
IP Cores from Elliptic Semiconductor
Elliptic has ported, optimized and tested a select number of its most popular IP cores to Lattice FPGA devices, including the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), the Tiny AES and the Data Encryption Standard (DES)/Triple DES (3DES) with high performance and competitive implementation results. Datasheets for these cores are available on the Lattice website: http://www.latticesemi.com/products/intellectualproperty/ellipticcores. These IP cores are available in netlist format for immediate purchase from Elliptic, which also offers additional packaging and licensing options to suit specific customer needs.
About the Lattice ispLeverCORE Connection Program
Through the ispLeverCORE Connection Program, independent IP providers join with Lattice to provide their mutual customers the highest quality, reusable IP cores optimized for the unique architectures of Lattice FPGAs. Each ispLeverCORE partner is selected for its industry leadership, high development standards and commitment to customer support. Lattice works closely with its partners to ensure they have the necessary tools and training to optimize IP core performance in Lattice's software and devices. Connection partners provide many widely used cores that complement Lattice's own internally developed ispLeverCORE IP products.
