iVivity, Inc. Selects Ingot Systems to Provide High-Performance DDR Memory Controller IP Solutions
iVivity is a supplier of storage network processor silicon as well as custom storage adapters and motherboards to storage and networking manufacturers that want application-controlled storage connectivity. iVivity's iDiSX(R) is a new type of high performance, multi-core, "system-on-chip" storage silicon that combines high integration with low power, which significantly accelerates the design, development and deployment of intelligent storage systems, subsystems, blades and line cards. The Ingot Intelligent Memory Manager and PHY IP cores will be used in the iVivity iDiSX, the industry's only full performance 10Gbs iSCSI engine shipping today, which can be extended to FC.
"We had very specific ultra-low latency and very-high bandwidth requirements for our memory interface and after reviewing all the products in the market we found the Ingot solution was the best fit for our application," said Jim O'Connor, Sr. VP of Engineering at iVivity. "Also, we were able to obtain the complete solution from Ingot -- the customized memory controller, PHY and DLL. This helped us stay on schedule and reduced our project risk, a key consideration for us."
"iVivity is a leader in the storage networking space and high-performance and low-latency are key attributes of their solution. We are pleased that our products will be a key part of the value they deliver to their customers," said Jai Iyer, President & CEO of Ingot Systems. "High-bandwidth memory interfaces are a key differentiator in more and more systems and our customers have found that we have the best solution for both low-latency and sustained high-system bandwidth."
Electronic Design Solutions
Traditional Design Service and IP companies take a 'one-size fits all approach' and typically offer a previously completed design (as an IP Core) as a solution to your design. It will require additional time and engineering effort to get it to 'fit' your requirements. Ingot has taken a more 'custom tailored' approach. We have used our extensive system design experience to create a unique infrastructure, called Electronic Design Solutions Technology, which allows us to tailor our target designs to your specific application.
