Denali Announces Verification Solution for Consumer Electronics Storage Systems
Verification IP Package Speeds Compliance, Interoperability Verification for CE-ATA and Flash Card Interfaces
It enables system developers to simulate the detailed interaction between consumer electronic designs and the various storage device options, including CE-ATA hard disk drives, MMC, SecureDigital and MemoryStick flash cards. Simulating the vendor-specific features and timing of the storage devices enables hardware designers to verify compliance with storage interface standards, and ensures optimal performance for data transfers in the end product design.
"We work closely with all the leading memory manufacturers to ensure that we continually provide our customers with the highest quality simulation models available," says David Lin, Denali's vice president of product marketing. "This is a key reason why our memory modeling product is the de facto standard in the chip design community today. This new packaging lets hardware designers use the same verification IP environment to simulate virtually any commercial storage device. The common environment provides dramatic reductions in development cycle time by speeding functional verification, and enabling earlier software and firmware development."
The verification IP package provides developers with a combination of MMAV(TM) and Purespec(TM) to enable simulation of all commercial storage devices used in consumer electronic products, including: CE-ATA; CompactFlash(TM); MMCplus(TM); MMCmobile(TM); MMCmicro(TM); MemoryStick(TM); MemoryStickPro(TM); SDIO(TM); SDCard(TM); and miniSD(TM)

Denali's Verification IP Products
The MMAV product is used to model and simulate vendor specific memory devices for chip design and functional verification. It provides highly accurate simulation models that represent detailed features, function and timing for more than 8,000 commercial DRAM, SRAM, Flash and Flash card devices.
PureSpec provides high-quality verification IP for other chip interface standards such as: PCI Express, USB, SATA, CE-ATA, and Ethernet. It is fully configurable to represent any or all of the device types and protocol layers as permitted by the specification.
The MMAV and Purespec verification IP products include configurable bus functional models, protocol monitors and complete assertion libraries for the device or interface specification. They also share a common underlying architecture for seamless integration to all popular Verilog, VHDL, and C-based simulators, and all commercial verification languages such as SystemC, VERA and "e."
