BroadLight Leads GPON Silicon Market With 25 Design Wins for Its Industry-Leading GPON Solution; BroadLight Extends Its Leading ITU-T PON Position in North America Into Countries Around the Globe
"We knew we were in a very good position when we delivered the industry's first E2E GPON solution in December 2005 -- and we are thrilled to have such tremendous customer success at this early stage," said Andrew Vought, CEO of BroadLight. "BroadLight is a strategic partner of each licensee and we work very closely with each customer to incorporate our software stack and use our PON systems expertise to help them bring GPON equipment to market quickly and cost effectively."
Jeff Heynen, Directing Analyst of Broadband and IPTV for Infonetics Research, added, "25 GPON design wins in such a short time is a clear indicator that GPON is a hot market and that BroadLight is clearly one of the leading silicon suppliers. We believe the company's ability to have one of the first working silicon and software solutions in time for the recent GPON RFP in North America is a key reason for this early traction."
"Customers using our silicon and software solutions can quickly deliver standards-compliant and cost competitive E2E GPON systems with low-risk," added Raphael Sankar, VP of Worldwide Sales. "A major reason for our success is our ability to deliver fully featured solutions (including FEC, AES, DBA) while providing customers with the benefits of using a cost-competitive system-on-chip from their first design."
BroadLight's Family of GPON Solutions
BroadLight first unveiled it complete E2E GPON solution in June 2005 and delivered samples in December 2005. E2E GPON includes the BL2000 GPON System-on-Chip (SoC) for cost focused ONU/ONT applications; BL3000 GPON OLT MAC; and PONmaker software for ONU and OLT. Delivering unprecedented performance and integration, BroadLight's E2E GPON provides customers with a low-cost and low-risk solution that significantly speeds their time to market with ITU-T G.984-compliant GPON equipment.
About BroadLight, Inc.
