Faraday and Elliptic Form Strategic Marketing Partnership for Worldwide ASIC and IP Businesses Expansion
Update: Synopsys Expands Security Solutions with Acquisition of Elliptic Technologies (June 29, 2015)
Hsinchu , Taiwan and Ottawa , Canada -- Aug. 3, 2006 -- Faraday Technology Corporation (TAIEX: 3035), a leading ASIC and Silicon IP provider, today announced that Elliptic, a leading supplier of cryptographic semiconductor intellectual property (SIP), has joined Faraday's Design Access Partnership Program. According to the terms of the agreement, Faraday's ASIC customers are entitled to easy access to Elliptic's broad portfolio of security IP cores, software and technology support, while Faraday will provide marketing and sales support to help Elliptic expand their IP business worldwide.Elliptic has a broad portfolio including security IP cores and embedded software. Its symmetric cryptographic cores such as AES and triple DES algorithms offer performance capability up to 50 Gbps. Key exchange functions are supported through single purpose or dual capability RSA and Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) cores as well as true and pseudo-random number generator functions.
"We are pleased to join Faraday's Design Access Partnership Program to provide our comprehensive portfolio of security IP to Faraday's customers and prospects," said Al Hawtin, Vice President of Marketing at Elliptic Semiconductor. "Most of Elliptic's cores are configurable, and thus enable customers to achieve a desired balance between gate count and performance by selecting core options. With Faraday's broad SIP portfolio, robust ASIC design experiences and Elliptic's application know-how, customers can fully leverage our security solutions."
"We continue to expand our SIP portfolio in response to the market demand. With Elliptic, we are now able to address the increasing requests of implementing security algorithms in SoC designs," said Dr. George Hwang, Faraday's Vice President of R&D and Marketing. "Elliptic is a best-in-class provider of security IP, and we're pleased to have them join Faraday's Design Access Partnership Program to provide our customers the highest quality encryption solutions," Dr. Hwang concluded.
