CoWare and VeriSilicon Announce Partnership to Strengthen ESL Design Solution for ZSP Processors
SAN JOSE, Calif. & SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- December 18, 2006 -- CoWare®, Inc., the leading supplier of platform-driven electronic system-level (ESL) design software and services, and VeriSilicon Holdings Co., Ltd. (VeriSilicon), a leading world-class ASIC design foundry and semiconductor IP provider, announced they have formed a partnership to provide a stronger ESL design solution for the ZSP processor families, including the ZSP400 and ZSP500. VeriSilicon chose to work with CoWare after it recently acquired the ZSP division of LSI Logic and consequently became a provider of digital signal processors. CoWare had been working successfully with that division before the acquisition. After the acquisition, VeriSilicon and CoWare continued development work together and have successfully produced Processor Support Packages (PSPs) that enable customers doing ZSP-based designs to do architecture exploration, hardware verification, and software development in the CoWare ESL environment. The ZSP PSPs are fully instrumented to provide the benefits of CoWare solution's extensive analysis capabilities. As a consequence, designers of ZSP-based designs now have the right tools to tune their designs quickly.
"The CoWare ESL tools provide the ideal environment for designing ZSP-based platforms," said Wayne Dai, chairman and CEO, VeriSilicon. "We are also excited by the CoWare Virtual Platform solution. It will enable VeriSilicon and CoWare to provide a software development environment for current and future ZSP processors which will help our customers speed up their time to market."
"The ZSP processor models are an important part of our popular CoWare Model Library," said Alan Naumann, president and CEO, CoWare. "They are valued by many of our customers. We are very pleased that VeriSilicon chose us as their ESL design partner so that we can offer a strong ESL solution to our joint customers."
