Silicon Image Names Edward Lopez Chief Legal Officer
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Jan. 5, 2007 – Silicon Image, Inc. (Nasdaq: SIMG), a leader in semiconductors for the secure storage, distribution and presentation of high-definition content, today announced the appointment of Edward Lopez as the company’s chief legal officer (CLO).
As CLO, Lopez is responsible for overseeing the company’s legal affairs, including its strategic partnerships, intellectual property matters, as well as licensing and M&A activity. Lopez replaces Patrick Reutens, who left Silicon Image in September, 2006 and Stephanie Alexander, who served as acting CLO during the executive search process.

Lopez joins Silicon Image from the law firm of Morrison & Foerster, where he advised technology companies in a wide variety of substantive areas, including board and corporate governance matters, securities, financings and strategic transactions. Prior to rejoining Morrison & Foerster in 2005, Lopez was general counsel and senior vice president, human resources at Terayon Communication Systems, Inc. During his tenure at Terayon, Lopez also served as acting chief financial officer with additional responsibility for finance, corporate marketing, investor relations and the IT organization. Lopez also held senior management and general counsel positions at ReSound Corporation and Nellcor Puritan Bennett, Inc., two medical device companies. Previously, Lopez was with the law firms Morrison & Foerster and McCutchen Doyle Brown & Enersen. Lopez earned his B.A. in Economics from Columbia University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
