Silicon Image Unveils a New Line of Integrated HDMI 1.3 Input Processors for HDTVs
PinnaClear™ SiI9153 and SiI9155 Input Processors Deliver Cutting-Edge HDMI 1.3 With Analog Video Support Backed by Comprehensive Interoperability Testing Through Simplay Labs™, Lowering Manufacturers’ Bill of Materials for HDTVs
Las Vegas, Jan. 8, 2007 – Silicon Image, Inc. (NASDAQ: SIMG), a leader in semiconductors for the secure storage, distribution and presentation of high-definition content, at the 2007 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) today unveiled the first two products of the PinnaClear™ family of HDTV input processors with High-Definition Multimedia Interface™ (HDMI) version 1.3, and legacy analog video inputs for digital TVs (DTVs).
Silicon Image has established itself as a leader driving the transition to HDMI 1.3 and Deep Color™ for source and display devices with market-proven HDMI 1.3 VastLane™ SiI9134 transmitter and SiI9133 receiver solutions. The new PinnaClear family of HDTV input processors support multiple HDMI 1.3 ports with video resolutions of up to 1080p at 60Hz and 36-bits per pixel color depth. They allow consumers to enjoy the highest quality content on their HDTVs transmitted by a new generation of consumer products, such as the Sony PlayStation 3. In addition, they support the new, lossless compressed digital audio formats available in HDMI 1.3: Dolby® TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio™, as well as other HDMI-supported audio formats, including high-bandwidth uncompressed digital audio and compressed formats such as Dolby® Digital, DTS and Super Audio CD (SACD).
The new PinnaClear SiI9153 video input processor is optimized for the midrange, high-volume HDTVs by bringing advanced HDMI 1.3 functionality into mainstream products and at the same time featuring two analog high-definition component video inputs to support YCbCr or RGB formats. The component inputs feature internal voltage reference, digital phase-locked loop (PLL), clamping circuit and variable gain control. In addition, the SiI9153 supports two 12-bit digital ITU656 (BT.656) ports or a single 24-bit ITU656 port for high-definition video input with up to 1080p resolution.
The PinnaClear SiI9155 input processor is targeted for the high-end HDTVs, featuring three HDMI 1.3 input ports and four component high-definition analog inputs, which can be used for component video, RGB and the Japanese D-Connector inputs. In addition, legacy standard definition analog video is supported with five composite video and four S-Video inputs, providing HDTV manufacturers with a single fully integrated input processor significantly lowering the bill of materials and providing cutting edge HDMI 1.3 capabilities.

The Simplay HD Testing Program will verify the SiI9153 and SiI9155 for HDMI 1.3 compatibility. The Simplay Program provides compatibility testing for high-definition consumer electronics devices such as HDTVs, set-top boxes, audio/video (A/V) receivers and DVD players, helping manufacturers to achieve compatibility and deliver the highest-quality HDTV experience to consumers.
Availability
The PinnaClear SiI9153 and SiI9155 will be sampling to customers in the first half of 2007.
