LEON3 licensed for GPS receiver application
January 16, 2007 -- Gaisler Research AB announced that a license agreement has been signed for the use of the LEON3 processor and the GRLIB IP-library with Javad Inc. The LEON3 and the GRLIB IP-library will be used in a new GPS/Glonass receiver.
"We're proud that Javad after evaluation against competing processor solutions selected the LEON3 and GRLIB for its next generation GPS receivers," said Per Danielsson, president & CEO of Gaisler Research. "Javad is now the fifth GPS company who is taking benefit of the LEON and GRLIB technology, giving high performance and low power consumption.”
The LEON processor has previously been used for GPS receivers by companies such as Nemerix, Locsense, EADS Astrium and Semtech. The LEON processor is with the GRLIB IP-library is ideally suited for SoC designs and for low power handheld products.
