DNA Enterprises, Inc. Unveils New PowerPC Product Line
[Richardson, TX - June 12, 2000] - DNA Enterprises, Inc. moves into direct sales as shipments begin of its PowerPC Summit product line which is slated to include seven products by 4Q2000.
DNA Enterprises proudly introduces its new PowerPC line of board-level products designed to meet the most demanding requirements of high performance computing and digital signal processing applications. DNA provides commercial off the shelf (COTS) hardware and software, and can utilize contract design services resources to spin derivative program specific solutions to reduce costs and risk.
This new line will complement the existing line of DSP products currently sold to Texas Instruments and Pentek, Inc., who recently placed over $800,000 in orders. The Pentek OEM orders call for several different configurations of DNA's established line of quad-processor VME products to be supplied over the next two quarters. The boards are targeted for a variety of applications in telecommunications, instrumentation, imaging and intelligence gathering.
"These latest orders are clear evidence of the market's acceptance of our current C6000 product line," stated John Radford, President of DNA Enterprises. "Our market penetration with these products has been steadily increasing as we see mounting demand for our C6000 products. The success being achieved by our established product line is very encouraging as we begin the initial shipments of our next generation products based on the PowerPC processor family."
Now DNA moves into direct sales by adding their own VME PowerPC board line to the array of products and services available. The new product line will focus on single, dual, and quad processor VME boards based on the PowerPC 750 and G4 AltiVec processor families from Motorola/IBM.
"The PowerPC is being utilized in applications that traditionally required both RISC and DSP processors in a single industry standard software development environment," stated Matt Muzzin, Director of Products at DNA Enterprises, Inc. He then added, "The PowerPC offers software compatibility between each generation of processors, facilitating technology insertions and reducing costs. We are very pleased to be launching our new PowerPC product line in conjunction with such widespread acceptance, specifically in the COTS defense market."
Near term products for the Summit PowerPC product line are:
- The VS750 (in production) features include embedded RACEway and two PMC modules for high I/O bandwidth.
- The VQ750 (slated for production in July) expands upon the VS750 by adding the choice of 1, 2, or 4 processors and two independent PCI buses (32-bit/33 MHz and 64-bit/66 MHz) each dedicated to a PMC site.
- The VSC750 Conduction Cooled VME board (also in production) highlights ten I/O ports, MIL-STD 1553B, full built-in-test (BIT), and more.
- The VSH750 (scheduled for August) is designed for hot insertion applications.
