BOPS Appoints General Counsel
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.----May 17, 2000--BOPS®, Inc., a leading programmable DSP core provider, today announced that the company has appointed Kathy L. Camp as its first general counsel. Camp joins BOPS from ARM and reports to Victor Young, who also recently joined BOPS as CFO from Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP.
BOPS develops and licenses high performance DSP cores as well as providing top tier OEMs with hardware, software tools and engineering support to quickly and efficiently design Internet, multimedia and communications products using BOPS ManArray(TM) DSP core family.
Carl Schlachte, BOPS CEO, noted, ``Kathy Camp is joining us as we position ourselves to address the growing interest in our high-performance, DSP-based intellectual property. Her experience with the legal issues surrounding intellectual property and technology license agreements are important assets to us going forward and I welcome her to our executive team.''
Most recently, Camp was responsible for handling the legal aspects of technology transfers for ARM, a multinational UK-based company that designs and licenses intellectual property for microprocessor cores. Prior to this, she has held positions on the Santa Clara University High-Technology Advisory Board (Santa Clara, Calif.), at Williams, Pinelli & Cullen ( San Jose, Calif.) and Silver & Taube ( San Jose, Calif.). Camp received her law degree from Santa Clara University School of Law (Santa Clara, Calif.).
