Kilopass Announces Collaboration with TSMC in Embedded Non-volatile Memory Technology and Qualification of 0.13-micron Process Technology
Update: Synopsys Expands DesignWare IP Portfolio with Acquisition of Kilopass Technology (Jan. 10, 2018)
Santa Clara, Calif. -- July 9, 2007 -- Kilopass Technology, a leading provider of semiconductor non-volatile memory (NVM) intellectual property (IP), today announced that it is collaborating with TSMC in developing Kilopass XPM NVM one-time programmable (OTP) IP, and it has successfully qualified its XPM on TSMCs 0.13-micron CMOS logic process technology. Kilopass XPM passed TSMCs rigorous quality standard set that includes over 1000 hours of high-temperature operating life tests.Kilopass announced the qualification of XPM for TSMCs 0.18-micron CMOS process in November 2005. The company has since been working to qualify XPM NVM technology on TSMCs process technologies ranging from 0.13-micron to leading edge nanometer nodes.
This achievement highlights that XPM is completely scalable to different process nodes, remarked Charles Ng, vice president of worldwide sales and marketing, Kilopass Technology. We are pleased to have XPM qualified for yet another TSMC process, and are working hard to achieve qualification on TSMCs more advanced process technologies.
With this qualification, Kilopass adds another IP based on TSMC process technology for IC designers who are seeking embedded OTP solution, said Sam Chen, director of Platform Marketing, Memory Business at TSMC. Kilopass is an important developer of TSMCs embedded NVM platform covering our mainstream and advanced process technologies.
About XPM
Kilopass silicon-proven, low-cost and highly secure XPM memory technology offers the benefits of post-manufacturing programming of non-volatile memory implemented in standard-logic CMOS processes, including 0.18-micron, 0.13-micron and 90 nm. Applications for embedded XPM memories include analog trimming and calibration, chip IDs, security keys, DRM (Digital Rights Management), HDMI, memory repair, CMOS image sensors, digital logic configuration, and secure firmware storage.
About Kilopass Technology
Kilopass Technology, Inc., a fast-growing supplier of embedded non-volatile memory intellectual property, leverages standard logic CMOS processes to deliver one-time programmable structures based on its extra-permanent memory (XPM) technology. The memory arrays can be used for the storage of firmware, security codes, calibration data and other application critical information.
