Faraday Reported 2007 Second Quarter Results
- Quarter-over-quarter revenue increased 0.6% to NT$1,154 million (US$35.1 million)
- Gross margin raised to a record high of 53.8%
- Net income of NT$369 million (US$11.2 million)
- Earnings per share of NT$1.15 for the quarter
Hsinchu, Taiwan -- July 26, 2007 -- Faraday Technology Corporation (TSE: 3035), a leading fabless ASIC design solution and silicon IP provider, today announced its unconsolidated operating results for the quarter ended June 30, 2007. The second quarter revenue was NT$1,154 million, while net income and fully diluted earnings per share came to NT$369 million and NT$1.15 per share, respectively.
Thanks to a higher percentage from high-margin IP business, gross margin of the quarter raised to 53.8%, higher than previous quarter’s 53.0%. The operating income was NT$279 million, operating margin of 2Q07 was 24.2%. Net income was NT$369 million down 0.9% over the same period last year.
The unconsolidated sales revenue for the first half of 2007 were NT$2,301 million, gross margin and net margin were 53.4% and 41.4% respectively. EPS for the first half of 2007 was NT$2.95, higher than same period of 2006’s NT$2.30.

For all 2Q07 results, New Taiwan Dollar (NT$) amounts have been converted into U.S. dollars at the exchange rate of NT$32.9 to one U.S. dollar.
