Trinity Convergence Announces Availability of IP Video Phone Software for TI's DaVinci Processors
VeriCall Edge® embedded software and VeriCall Phone Editions™ IP video phone solution now available for Texas Instruments processors based on DaVinci technology
Research Triangle Park, NC – August 14, 2007 -- Delivering on its promise to offer the most flexible VoIP and IP video software solutions available, Trinity Convergence today announced that its VeriCall® family of voice video over IP (V2IP) software is now generally available for the Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) TMS320DM644x digital media processors based on DaVinci technology.
TI processors running VeriCall software provide original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and original design manufacturers (ODMs) with proven solutions for delivering internet protocol (IP) connected video products, such as IP Video Phones and IP Surveillance/Monitoring Systems, that require hi-fidelity audio and H.264 video functionality. The comprehensive nature of VeriCall software helps manufacturers shrink product development cycles and accelerate product delivery.
“We’re excited to be introducing a very robust set of solutions that run on some of the most advanced digital media processors available today,” stated Ajit Pendse, CEO and Chairman of Trinity Convergence. “Direction from our OEM and ODM customers over the years has been clear — provide us high-performance voice and video over IP software solutions and the ability to run on leading edge platforms. Texas Instruments has clearly demonstrated its leadership in the IP video space with its strong track record in the fields of video telephony, video surveillance, entertainment delivery and telecommunications.”
"Texas Instruments is very pleased to be working closely with Trinity Convergence to deliver high-performance H.264 based IP video phones to both the consumer and enterprise segments,” said Pradeep Bardia, worldwide business manager, TI. “Trinity’s VeriCall family of software helps us to offer our customers a proven platform for delivering IP video services in a variety of applications and products and we look forward to the continued collaboration.”
The VeriCall family of software provides complete communications solutions that incorporate all of the key components for enabling two-way voice and video over IP communications and advanced functionality such as instant messaging (IM) and Presence (user status and availability). VeriCall software available on DaVinci technology processors includes:
- VeriCall Edge® — a comprehensive embedded software framework that allows manufacturers to leverage a single, embedded voice/video solution across an entire portfolio of IP-based communication products — from VoIP/video phones to home automation applications to next generation dual-mode handsets.
- VeriCall Video Phone Edition™ — a complete IP video phone solution, now available on the TMS320DM6446 and TMS320DM6441 processors based on DaVinci technology, designed to accelerate product development and delivery. VeriCall Phone Editions integrate the embedded software framework (VeriCall Edge) with a customizable graphical user interface (GUI) and a suite of user applications (including Address Book, Presence and Instant Messaging) to create a vertically integrated and turnkey IP Video Phone solution.
