Alchip Strengthens Executive Management Team Industry Veteran Jim Bailey Joins as Chief Operating Officer
Taipei, Taiwan– August 23, 2007 – Alchip Technologies, Ltd., a leading provider of silicon design and manufacturing services for companies developing complex and high-volume system-on-chip(SoC) designs, today announced the strengthening of its management team with the appointment of Jim Bailey as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Bailey will be responsible for driving global business strategy,new business development and business operations in North America, Japan, China and Taiwan.

Throughout his career, Bailey has gained recognition for creatingbusiness solutions that scale as well as strong leadership in managing global operations of leading companies, and leveraging his skills to help them achieve their strategic, operational and sales goals.
Bailey brings more than 25 years experience from the EDA and IP industry segments to Alchip. As COO, Bailey will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the success of the company that allows Alchip to continue its international growth and achieve its primary business objectives.
Prior to joining Alchip, Bailey served as Vice President with Virage Logic for worldwide sales and customer support. Bailey comes with diverse experience in sales, marketing and general management while engaging new businesses in cutting edge technology markets. Bailey has also served as President and CEO of Accenia, Inc. Before Accenia, Bailey served as a general manager in the Design for Manufacture (DFM) business unit at Cadence Design Systems from 2002 to 2004. Bailey joined Cadence in 2002 through the acquisition of Simplex Solutions. While at Simplex Solutions, Bailey held various management positions including vice president and general manager, vice president worldwide sales and sales director for North America. Bailey held various sales and consulting management positions with Mentor Graphics, Cadence Design Systems and XCAT Incorporated.
He began his career as software engineer in 1982 at Control Data Corporation/ETA Systems where he was the two-time winner of the Technology Excellence Award.
