IBEX Becomes Tensilica Authorized Design Center
Update: Cadence Completes Acquisition of Tensilica (Apr 24, 2013)
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – August 28, 2007 – Tensilica, Inc. today announced that IBEX Technology Co., Ltd. (IBEX) has become an authorized Tensilica design center. Headquartered in Kawasaki, Japan, IBEX has a strong background in advanced multimedia technology, including MPEG-4, MPEG-2, and H.264. As a Tensilica authorized design center, IBEX will support Xtensa configurable processor customers.“We became a Tensilica authorized design center because we were impressed with the way that the Xtensa configurable processor can be optimized for multimedia applications,” stated Toshikazu Morita, managing director of LSI Engineering Division, of IBEX. “Often, multimedia is delivered in bit streams that are inefficient for standard 32-bit processors. But Xtensa processors can handle the data with ease.”
“We are pleased to offer our customers the expertise of the IBEX engineering staff in multi-media applications,” stated Steve Roddy, Tensilica’s vice president of Marketing. “Their extensive experience, particularly in emerging video applications, should be of great assistance as our customers are designing exciting new products.”
