hd Lab Becomes Tensilica Authorized Design Center
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – August 28, 2007 – Tensilica, Inc. today announced that hd Lab, Inc., has become an authorized Tensilica design center, supporting customers of both the Xtensa configurable processors and the Diamond Standard processor cores. Headquartered in Yokohama, Japan, hd Lab also has an office in Palo Alto, CA, and supports a number of multinational electronics companies.
hd Lab has expertise in three major digital design areas. First, their engineers understand and fully utilize leading edge EDA (electronic design automation) tools such as: system-level design tools, HDL (hardware description language) tools, and synthesis tools. Second, their engineers have thorough circuit application and system design knowledge. And third, they specialize in comprehensive and well thought out design methodology.
“Tensilica’s Xtensa configurable processor generator is an incredible design productivity tool,” Yoshifumi Nagano, president & CEO of hd Lab. “By adding specialized instructions to an Xtensa processor, designers can avoid the need to develop custom hardware accelerators, which take longer to design and are subject to lengthy and costly verification cycles.”
“hd Lab has an excellent reputation among major electronics companies for providing first-quality design services and we’re happy to add them to Tensilica’s expanding list of authorized design center partners,” stated Steve Roddy, Tensilica’s vice president of Marketing and Business Development.
In addition to providing design services, hd Lab will also provide in-depth training on Tensilica’s configurable processor technology.
