Lattice to Showcase Industry's First True 90nm Non-Volatile FPGA at the Embedded Systems Conference Boston
Award Winning Low-Cost FPGAs with SERDES I/O, New PCI Express Solutions, Open Source Embedded Microprocessor and Software Design Tools also Featured
HILLSBORO, OR - SEPTEMBER 6, 2007 - Lattice Semiconductor (NASDAQ: LSCC) today announced that it will demonstrate its recently announced LatticeXP2™ device, the industry’s first true 90nm non-volatile, single-die FPGA, at the Embedded Systems Conference Boston, Hynes Auditorium, September 19-20, in Booth 820. The low-cost 90nm LatticeECP2M™ FPGA, named “Product of the Year” by Electronic Products magazine, also will be featured, as well as the LatticeMico32™ 32-bit soft microprocessor, and the Lattice ispLEVER® software design tool suite.
Visitors will view demonstrations of the LatticeECP2M low-cost FPGA with embedded SERDES and a PCI-Express IP core performing PCIe bus transactions; the LatticeMico32 open source soft microprocessor running a web server and TCP/IP stack; Lattice’s TransFR™ technology for transparent, live configuration updates on the LatticeXP2 FPGA; and LatticeECP2M SERDES capable of supporting diverse serial standards such as SATA and SMPTE.
“A New Product Rampage”
Over the past three years, Lattice has steadily established itself as the “Third Force” in FPGAs, and the industry press, including the prestigious FPGA Journal, has taken notice:
“Lattice has been on a new product rampage… the ECP2M FPGA has now clearly stepped over the line and broken the rules for low-cost FPGAs…the benefits of non-volatility put the LatticeXP2 in a league by itself.” – Kevin Morris, Editor, FPGA Journal
“Lattice continues to expand its product portfolio with innovative silicon, software and intellectual property cores,” said Stan Kopec, corporate vice president of marketing. “The Embedded Systems Conference Boston 2007 will be the first time many attendees will see our LatticeMico32 embedded microprocessor, which is available at no charge through a unique Open Source license; our PCI Express solutions for our LatticeSC™ and LatticeECP2M FPGA families, and the new generation of our ispLEVER software design tool suite. The ESC will provide a great opportunity for attendees to view demonstrations of our new products and to discuss their features, technologies and benefits with our technical applications personnel. We believe we provide the most comprehensive and technologically differentiated programmable logic products in the industry, including our unique non-volatile LatticeXP2 and MachXO™ devices, our new automotive grade, AEC-Q100 certified programmable logic product families and our FreedomChip™ cost reduction path for the LatticeSC FPGA family. We have a very strong story to tell, and we are looking forward to sharing it with the attendees.”
About Lattice FPGAs and PLDs
The 90nm LatticeECP2M FPGAs combine an efficient FPGA fabric with dedicated high-performance DSP blocks and SERDES I/O for high-volume, low-cost applications. The Extreme Performance™ 90nm LatticeSC FPGAs provide unsurpassed performance and connectivity for high-speed applications. The new LatticeXP2 non-volatile FPGAs combine SRAM and embedded Flash technologies to provide infinite reconfigurability and easy field upgrades. Lattice MachXO non-volatile crossover programmable logic devices support applications traditionally addressed by high density CPLDs or low capacity FPGAs, but with a more comprehensive and cost-effective architecture and technology.
About the LatticeMico32 Microprocessor
The LatticeMico32 microprocessor is a comprehensive, high performance and easy to use 32-bit processor solution. The LatticeMico32 microprocessor is unique among those offered by FPGA vendors in that the generated microprocessor and selected peripheral HDL code are licensed under Lattice’s Open Source license agreement. This unique license allows users to ensure that their proprietary designs remain proprietary and allows the implementation and distribution of hardware without the need for a separate license agreement.
