Xceive and Genesis Launch Reference Design Supporting Digital and Analog Broadcast Reception for HD Flat-Panel TVs
SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- September 24, 2007 -- Xceive Corporation, the market leader in hybrid silicon tuners with proven success in television, PCs and the digital home, and Genesis Microchip, a world leader in the development of image and video processing technologies for flat-panel displays, today announced the launch of a joint reference design platform for HD flat-panel TV manufacturers. This joint reference platform was designed to enhance the quality, performance and capabilities for flat-panel TVs while significantly reducing development time for customers.
The reference design combines Xceive’s XC5000, the world’s most highly integrated silicon tuner that enables unmatched performance, unique features, and ultra-small footprint, with Genesis’ advanced digital TV processors, delivering the highest quality images available. Xceive’s platform exceeds worldwide analog and digital TV requirements for terrestrial and cable reception and utilizes HDTV controller solutions from Genesis to target global mainstream TV customers.
“Our partnership with Xceive combines one of the highest performing silicon tuner technologies available with the industry’s most advanced 1080p video and color processing SoC from Genesis, enabling TV manufacturers to select a high-quality, market-ready platform for a wide range of digital TV solutions,” said Graham Loveridge, vice president of video marketing for Genesis.
“Xceive is excited to be partnering with Genesis to provide a complete TV-ready platform that includes everything from RF input all the way to LVDS and DisplayPort out to the screen,” said Neil Mitchell, vice president of marketing. “This reference design enables TV manufacturers to leverage a suite of HDTV technologies to deliver the very best products to their customers, quickly and cost effectively.”
Xceive and Genesis have completed the reference-design hardware, which will be available in the fourth quarter of 2007. Interested parties can contact either company about the availability of various hardware and software licensing arrangements.
