Evatronix celebrates the 10th anniversary of its 1st IP core delivery
Update: Cadence Completes Acquisition of Evatronix IP Business (Jun 13, 2013)
More than 300 companies have licensed Evatronix IP cores since 1998.
Bielsko-Biala & Gliwice, Poland -- February 1, 2008 - Evatronix SA, the silicon Intellectual Property (IP) provider, proudly announces that the company has been delivering high quality IP cores and design services for 10 years now.
Evatronix, being an entirely self-funded and privately held IP provider, has experienced organic growth since it was founded. Focused originally on the distribution of CAD & EDA tools, the company had a vision to start IP core development activities in 1997, when the silicon IP market was in its early infancy. That led to the delivery of its first product in January 1998. Ever since the sales and product portfolio has kept growing constantly. Starting with the equivalent of Intel™ 8051 microcontroller (that core had been used in a couple of obsolete parts replacement projects), Evatronix soon perfected this popular architecture bringing to the market the most successful 8051-based family of IP cores, which were licensed to more than 120 companies and used in close to 200 chip designs such as the Bluetooth chip from Transilica (now Microtune), world’s first stacked 3D IC processor from Tezzaron or fingerprint recognition chip by Fingerprint Cards AB to name just a few.
Other fruits of Evatronix’ experience in the development of obsolete part replacements 16-bit microprocessor cores based on popular Motorola™ and Intel™ architectures, digital signal processor and numeric coprocessor cores may be named.
Building on the success of its high performance 8051 architecture and obsolete part replacement services the company has extended its portfolio with numerous interface controllers. USB, Ethernet MAC and recently memory controller product lines were introduced to the market. The vast majority of Evatronix IP cores are delivered with accompanying software and development environment to facilitate its deployment in complex SoC designs. In 2007 Evatronix launched complete sub-platforms that integrate its R8051XC microcontroller core with either USB or Ethernet MAC controllers and optimized software stacks to further shorten customers’ time-to-market.
“I am glad to see that such a wide IP cores portfolio has been developed in only 10 years, especially when you consider that back in 1997 we had just a single engineer working on our first product. The position we have reached is the effect of our deep desire to develop a successful silicon IP company in Poland,” said Wojciech Sakowski, Evatronix President. “The company has grown faster than the market itself. The years of hard work are paying off - it feels great to see the semiconductor blue chips on the list of our customers. Thanks to close cooperation with our strategic distribution partner CAST Inc. our IP has reached hundreds of fabless companies and ASIC vendors from Japan and Taiwan to Europe and the Silicon Valley. Something that was just a vision 10 years ago has become a reality.”
The technological growth Evatronix has been experiencing is reflected by the company’s active participation in research projects funded by European Union under 6 Framework Program in cooperation with leading European semiconductor companies. Memberships in a variety of industry consortia like SPIRIT, OCP-IP, USB IF or SD Card Association, shows Evatronix’ commitment to provide its customers with state-of-the-art solutions.
