Altera Demonstrates 3-Gbps SDI Leadership and 1080p Video Framework at NAB Show 2008
San Jose, Calif., April 8, 2008 - Altera Corporation and its high-definition (HD) video partners will showcase a broad portfolio of industry-leading programmable solutions, including a 3-Gbps serial digital interface (SDI) for use in broadcast system designs, at the upcoming NAB Show 2008, presented by the National Association of Broadcasters in Las Vegas. Visitors to Altera’s booth SL12705 will see demonstrations of:
- SDI Leadership
- 3G triple-rate auto detect, auto switch on Stratix®II GX FPGAs and now on Arria™ GX FPGAs
- Daughtercard and reference design with National
- Semiconductor’s 3 Gbps multi-rate SDI SerDes and Altera® Cyclone®III and Stratix III FPGAs
- Industry-leading jitter performance characterized over process, voltage and temperature
- 1080p Video Framework
- Start with a working 1080p hardware design and customize for your application
- 2-channel 1080p reference design with multi-tap scaling
- 10-Gbit test chip—The most advanced FPGA transceiver technology showing 10-Gbit operation
- Enhanced sample rate converter, which adds support for 192 kHz, while retaining broadcast audio quality and delivering greater than 50 percent cost savings over ASSP offerings
- 10 Gigabit Ethernet video networking framework for transporting packetized video
3rd Party Demonstrations
- Algolith’s high-quality motion adaptive deinterlacer integrated into Altera’s 1080p video framework
- Commsonic modulation and demodulation with Cyclone III low-cost FPGAs — ATSC, J.83 A/B/C, ATSC, DVB-C/T/H, DVB-S/SNG/S2
- 4i2i’s MPEG2 and H.264 4:2:2 CODECs — FPGA implementation eliminates multiple ASSPs by combining different standards into a single FPGA. Stratix III FPGA’s 25 percent performance advantage leads to most cost-effective FPGA solution available
When: April 14–17, 2008
Where:
Las Vegas Convention Center
