Arithmatica's Datapath Synthesis Used by Solarflare Communications for New 10GBASE-T PHY Design
SAN JOSE, Calif. - June 3, 2008 - Arithmatica, Ltd. today announced that Solarflare Communications, Inc. has successfully deployed Arithmatica’s datapath synthesis tool, CellMath Designer™, to optimize the datapath sections of Solarflare’s new 10GBASE-T PHY product. Arithmatica’s CellMath Designer enabled Solarflare’s IC design engineers to significantly reduce chip area and power consumption while ensuring all timing requirements were met by providing specialized datapath synthesis algorithms and proprietary math architectures.
“Arithmatica’s datapath synthesis tool has enabled us to stay ahead of the curve with high performance and low power consumption. CellMath Designer improved our engineer’s productivity by automatically producing optimal gate-level implementations,” said Brad Masters, Vice President of Engineering at Solarflare. “As we moved to 65-nanometer designs, power consumption was an increasing concern. We expect to rely even more heavily on specialized tools such as CellMath Designer to assist our design team in reducing power consumption.”
“Solarflare represents the leading-edge in products that enable the implementation of 10 Gigabit Ethernet for data center and enterprise networks,” said Dan Ganousis, CEO at Arithmatica. “Successful completion of their 10GBASE-T PHY design further validates the quality of results and productivity improvement that CellMath Designer provides to the datapath designer.”
Arithmatica is the only EDA vendor focused solely on the needs of datapath designers. Since 1999, Arithmatica has delivered the industry’s most innovative datapath synthesis tools, specialized intellectual property (IP), and consulting services to top-tier and start-up companies worldwide. Arithmatica’s patented adder and multiplier architectures enable the lowest power, area efficient, and highest performance datapath solutions.
