IPextreme Names Semiconductor Industry Veteran Rick Tomihiro as Vice President of Marketing
CAMPBELL, Calif.-- June 6, 2008 -- IPextreme® Inc., the company bringing famous IP (intellectual property) to system-on-chip (SoC) designers worldwide, today announced that it has named Rick Tomihiro as vice president of marketing, reporting directly to CEO and president Warren Savage. In his new position, he will be responsible for all corporate, technology and product marketing strategies.
“In the last 12 years, Rick has led semiconductor IP marketing teams for companies such as Synopsys, IPCore and Mentor Graphics,” said Warren Savage. “His wealth of experience and depth of knowledge will be invaluable as we continue to grow IPextreme.”
Mr. Tomihiro brings nearly 30 years of semiconductor design, product and strategic marketing expertise to IPextreme, including extensive experience working with companies in the Asia Pacific region. Immediately prior to joining IPextreme, he was director of marketing at Mentor Graphics Corp., with responsibility for all marketing and business development activities for Mentor Graphics’ Semiconductor IP Division. Before that, he was vice president of marketing and U.S. sales at design services company IPCore Technologies, having previously served for more than eight years as senior director of marketing in the Semiconductor IP Group at Synopsys, Inc. Mr. Tomihiro has also been director of marketing at NexGen Technologies, Inc., and marketing manager at Chips and Technologies, Inc.
Before entering the marketing field, Mr. Tomihiro held a number of design engineering positions, including that of engineering manager at Chips and Technologies, senior design engineer at Tandem Computers, Inc., and design engineer at STC Computer Research. He holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from San Jose State University.
