ARM Mali-200 GPU Compliant With OpenGL ES 2.0, OpenGL ES 1.1 and OpenVG 1.0
August 15, 2008
WHAT: The ARM® Mali™-200 graphics processing unit (GPU) is compliant with the full range of Khronos embedded 2D and 3D graphics standards: OpenGL ES 2.0, OpenGL ES 1.1 and OpenVG 1.0. This confirms the Mali-200 GPU as a fully conformant graphics acceleration solution providing industry-leading image quality and performance for all types of graphics rendering, from 2D user interfaces on mobile phones to 3D gaming on high-definition displays.
About the ARM Mali Complete Graphics Stack
ARM delivers widely adopted graphics IP solutions, with 22 licensees and counting, and is the only vendor to provide a full range of graphics IP solutions, from the world’s smallest GPU to the highest performance GPU IP at over one billion pixels per second, coupled with a complete stack of middleware and drivers and supported by a graphics ecosystem that harnesses the reach and power of the ARM Connected Community™.
WHY: The Khronos Group OpenGL ES 2.0 Conformance Tests, announced in May 2008, follow on from the previous OpenGL ES tests to verify both the OpenGL ES 2.0 and its companion shader programming language, GLSL ES 1.0. The OpenVG Conformance Tests were announced in March 2007 and ensure reliable, cross-platform vector graphics interoperability. Implementations must pass these tests in order to be described as Khronos conformant or compliant, and to benefit from advertising using the relevant logos and trademarks.
WHEN: The Mali-200 GPU concluded the conformance process for OpenVG on August 14, 2008, completing the full set of embedded 3D and 2D graphics standards.
