Certess Certitude Increases Verification Quality at Mellanox Technologies
High Standard of Silicon Quality Key to Mellanox’s Decision to Adopt Certitude
CAMPBELL, Calif.-- September 04, 2008 --Certess, Inc., today announced that Mellanox® Technologies, a leading supplier of semiconductor-based, server and storage interconnect products, has adopted Certitude™ to improve the verification of key semiconductor chip designs throughout the company. Certitude is the first commercial functional qualification software product for companies developing systems on a chip (SoCs) or integrating intellectual property (IP) blocks. Certitude certifies that if a semiconductor chip design had a bug, it would be found.
“Mellanox has a high commitment to quality across all aspects of its business, including semiconductor design, with the overarching goal to deliver the highest level of customer satisfaction,” said Ari Cohen, vice president of network adapter products at Mellanox. “We believe that the adoption of Certitude will help us meet the exacting demands of our customers.”
During the Certitude evaluation, Mellanox established that Certitude was able to smoothly integrate into its most complex verification environments and deliver valuable and easy-to-analyze results.
“Mellanox has put product reliability at the forefront of its value proposition,” said Certess CEO Michel Courtoy. “Helping chip designers build quality into their SoCs and IP blocks through better verification is the core of Certess’ offer. So it was a natural fit that Mellanox use Certitude to improve the quality of its verification.”
Functional qualification technology delivered by Certess assists SoC and IP design teams in two critical areas: first, given that the resources required by the functional verification process very often exceed those of design, and second, that since functional logic errors are still the largest cause of silicon re-spins, design teams need a set of dedicated tools and methodologies that automate parts of the process and improve verification quality.
Courtoy added that Certitude is already adopted by three of the top five global semiconductor companies and is deployed by more than 50 design teams throughout the world.
