Numetrics Enhances NMX-ERP Software Suite With Extensive Customization Capability
Customization Features Allow Users to Configure NMX-ERP to Fit Their Development Process and Project Management Needs
CUPERTINO, Calif. -- Sep 24, 2008 -- Numetrics Management Systems, Inc., the semiconductor industry's leading supplier of schedule predictability and productivity excellence tools for IC development projects announced release 3.1 of its NMX-ERP(TM) suite. This version significantly improves user productivity, allowing customization of data entry, project planning models and analysis reports. New features include:
-
Custom models for project plan synthesis: users can now synthesize project plans using models that adapt to the way projects are run in their organization. This leverages actual results from selected previous projects -- creating more precise and relevant results and plans.
-
Customizable staffing sets: templates allow workgroup and role-specific staffing requirements to be more easily predicted, based on actual staffing distributions extracted from previous projects.
-
Phase-based plan synthesis: plan generation now predicts effort for each phase of a project separately. It also supports what-if analysis of phase staffing levels, and allows users to see resource allocation by role for each of the phases during development (as defined in a customizable staffing template).
-
Customizable reuse bins: predefined templates allow users to select custom options for classifying block reuse (e.g. IP quality). This reduces user data entry time and improves the accuracy and consistency of block-level effort estimation.
-
User definable tags: these allow the creation of a custom classification schema for enhanced version management of project plans (e.g. baseline, current, best case, etc.). This promotes consistency of project comparisons and portfolio management.
-
Customizable report set templates: now users can automatically generate a predefined set of charts and reports to assess risk and track progress with one click. This minimizes the time needed to create project review and status presentations.
-
Custom data templates: company administrators can now define additional parameters to be collected or tracked for their internal use (e.g. EDA tool or IP supplier data). These can be used for future analysis and refinement of company-specific models for complexity estimation or plan synthesis.
"As Numetrics' software is gaining broad deployment inside semiconductor R&D organizations, we see strong interest in each company to customize the ways our tools are used to develop plans, analyze risk, and to extract data for internal consumption," said Steve Gary, Numetrics' vice president of product marketing and professional services. "We recognize the diversity in IC development and are providing the flexibility needed to make the NMX-ERP suite an increasingly important part of how projects are planned and tracked from concept to completion."
