CEVA SATA IP Deployed in Freescale's PowerQUICC II Pro Communications Product Line
CEVA's Advanced Enterprise Serial ATA IP provides high performance, high bandwidth storage connectivity for Small Office/Home Office applications
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Nov. 3, 2008 -- CEVA, Inc. (Nasdaq: CEVA); (LSE: CVA), a leading licensor of silicon intellectual property (SIP) platform solutions and DSP cores for mobile handsets, consumer electronics and storage applications, today announced that Freescale Semiconductor has licensed and deployed CEVA's latest generation Enterprise SATA Intellectual Property (IP) within its product line, including their MPC8315E PowerQUICC II Pro Communications Processor family.
The MPC8315E communications processor family enables a wide range of feature-rich applications that make the digital home experience easier, richer and safer. The cost-effective MPC8315E processor meets the requirements of several small office/home office (SOHO) applications including consumer network attached storage (NAS), digital media server, residential gateway, WLAN access point, printing, and industrial control.
CEVA's advanced Enterprise SATA solution with Native Command Queuing (NCQ) acceleration substantially reduces software overhead in Freescale's communications processors and delivers the high-performance levels required for high bandwidth SOHO applications.
