Key ASIC and MoSys Collaborate to Bring Unique Embedded Memory Solution to the High Resolution Portable LCD Driver Market
Key ASIC has licensed MoSys' patented 1T-SRAM memory technology to target customers designing high resolution LCD drivers. Key ASIC now includes 1T-SRAM memory technology as part of its IP portfolio, which includes the functional blocks required to enable the design and manufacturing of LCD driver products for the portable device market. This IP offering enables the design of low-cost, low power display drivers supporting the highest display resolutions in the market today.
"We chose MoSys' 1T-SRAM technology because of its ability to provide the high density memory needed for higher resolution displays. The speed and the form factor of 1T SRAM is ideally suited for on-chip frame buffers," said Alan Aronoff, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Key ASIC. "As display resolutions increase to HVGA and beyond, Key ASIC is well positioned to support the leading-edge requirements for portable device display driver integrated circuits."
"At a rapid pace, mobile devices are moving to higher resolutions, and the critical enabler is display driver ICs with dramatically more embedded memory. However, display driver IC vendors face enormous cost and competitive pressures," said Len Perham, MoSys' CEO and President. "We are pleased to be working with Key ASIC to address the demanding requirements of the display driver market. Key ASIC's IP, design, and manufacturing services provide a complete solution for high resolution portable LCD driver IC companies."
