ARC Provides N-trig with a Multi-Use, Multi-Year License
ARC’s processors are incorporated in N-trig’s ASIC devices and provide control and signal processing functions for N-trig's DuoSense pen and capacitive touch screen digitizer. Since ARC enables each customer to create a unique implementation, N-trig has been able to modify its implementation to boost control and signal processing performance while reducing silicon area by 30 percent.
“Technology partners like ARC allow us to focus on driving the Hands-on computingTM experience,” said Yaki Luzon, VP R&D and engineering, N-trig. “Our adoption of ARC cores for the next generation of our products provides us with a platform for future development.”
ARC cores produce exceptionally low silicon cost, operate on low-power, and achieve high computer performance. These cores can be configured and extended with optional features using correct-by-construction design methods that do not impact time to market. The ability to augment the standard RISC cores with advanced XY DSP and Dual-MAC units that accelerate floating point operations provides the system architect the ability to craft the most suitable RISC/DSP for the task.
“We are excited to be working with N-trig whose hands-on computing technology is driving the next generation of multi-touch computers. We pride ourselves on enabling our customers to build unique solutions with our IP that offers a competitive advantage without impacting their time to market,” said Dr. Akash R. Deshpande, chief technology officer of ARC International. “Our silicon proven IP is used by more than 150 licenses and ships in over 300 million units every year.”
