Nuvation Introduces Three New Video Security Reference Designs Featuring TI's DaVinci DM357
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- March 2, 2009 -- Nuvation, a leading Electronic Design Services (EDS) firm, introduces three new video security reference designs based on TI's new DaVinci(TM) DM357.
- "IP Cam Mini," the smallest IP Camera of its class
- "IP Cam PoE," a compact form factor IP Camera with Power over Ethernet (PoE)
- "IVS," an Intelligent Video Server for encoding and decoding audio/video in Video Security applications
The reference designs feature TI's DaVinci(TM) technology which are highly integrated Digital Media system-on-chips (SoCs). TI's TMS320DM357 devices feature a fixed-function H.264/MPEG4/JPEG video coprocessor with industry-leading price-performance.
"We are pleased to be introducing this latest family of video security reference designs on TI's DM357," said Chris Hallahan, Nuvation's VP of sales and marketing. "The video security market is experiencing rapid technology advancement as customers migrate to Internet Protocol (IP)-enabled cameras and video servers, improved image quality and frame rates, H.264 compression, and the like. TI's new DaVinci DM357 sets a new price-performance standard and is available immediately in these new reference design platforms."
